Fibroblast Activation Protein-2 (Fap2) is a large outer membrane protein and virulence factor of Fusobacterium nucleatum, acting as a galactose-binding lectin that facilitates bacterial adhesion to mammalian cells. It plays a crucial role in mediating the attachment and invasion of colorectal cancer cells, promoting colonization, immune modulation, and tumorigenesis in the host.
