Microbiome-based therapeutics in Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) (associated infections) focus on supportive care, treatment-response modulation, and post-therapy microbiome restoration. These therapeutics are not currently used as standalone anti-leukemia drugs.
The most supported methods include:
* Fecal microbiota transplantation
* Microbiome-preserving stewardship around antibiotics
* Potential metabolite- or taxa-directed strategies
Clinical evidence in AML is still in early stages and mostly non-definitive.
