A new subset, CD8aa+ TCRab+ Tregs, has been described. In mice, they recognize a T-cell receptor-derived peptide. This occurs in the context of the class Ib major histocompatibility complex molecule Qa-1. These Tregs target only activated T cells. They complement the suppression by CD4+ Foxp3+ Tregs.
