Several plant lectins may act as TLR agonists
Th1 immunity is induced by immunomodulatory plant lectins
Lectins are found in plants, animals, and fungi.
They are associated with numerous pathological processes, particularly cancer.
Examples of plant lectins are mistletoe lectins (MLs), ricin, concanavalin A (ConA), and Polygonatum cyrtonema lectin (PCL), which can specifically lead to apoptosis of cancer cells.
