In a comparison of treatments, 52 patients (50.6%) experienced toxicity with radiotherapy alone, whereas 36 patients (30.5%) had toxicity when receiving VSL#3 TM. Additionally, severe toxicity of degrees 3 or 4 was observed in 28 patients undergoing only radiotherapy, compared to 7 patients receiving VSL#3 TM (1)
