Primary hepatic stellate cells (HSC) upregulated the NLRP3 inflammasome and early fibrotic markers when stimulated with Deoxycholic Acid (DCA) but not with Lithocholic acid (LCA)

NLRP3 Inflammasome is functional in Kupffer cells and Hepatic Stellate Cells (HSC). The activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome in hepatic stellate cells leads to liver fibrosis in mice.
