Gallbladder cancer (GC) & Mutated variants (“drivers”)

In 2014, Li et al. published a study using whole-exome and targeted gene sequencing of Gallbladder carcinoma (GC). They identified that 36.8% (21 out of 57) of patients harbored recurrent mutations in the ErbB signaling pathway, including genes such as EGFR, ERBB2, ERBB3, ERBB4, and their downstream genes. This suggested that patients might benefit from targeted therapies.

Despite this, limited gene-based targeted therapies for Gallbladder carcinoma patients have been reported, with the exception of anti-HER2 treatment.
