Several Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor alfa (TNF-alfa) antibodies / Tumor Necrosis Factor alfa (TNF-alfa) inhibitors (L04AB) are approved by both FDA and EMA for the treatment of moderate‑to‑severe Ulcerative colitis (UC) (1, 2).

Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor alfa (TNF-alfa) antibodies / Tumor Necrosis Factor alfa (TNF-alfa) inhibitors are indicated for patients with moderate‑to‑severe Ulcerative colitis (UC) who have had an inadequate response, loss of response, or intolerance to conventional therapies such as 5-Aminosalicylic acid / Mesalazine, corticosteroids, and thiopurines. They are effective for inducing clinical response and remission, promoting mucosal healing, and maintaining long‑term remission (1, 2).
