Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic that is commonly used to treat Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) . It is effective in killing Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile by inhibiting cell wall synthesis and they do not restore the disrupted microbiome (18, 19, 20). However, the treatment with vancomycin has some limitations, including a relatively high rate of recurrence of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) after treatment (7).
