There is evidence that T helper 17 cells (Th17) can have both tumor-promoting and tumor-suppressing activities. The activities of Th17 cells in cancer depend largely on the type of cancer, the stage of the disease, and the specific conditions in the tumor microenvironment.

For example, In lung cancer, Th17 cells are involved in promoting both metastasis and tumor progression and have potential anti-tumor effects.

In colorectal cancer, Th17 cells can recruit cytotoxic T cells, potentially contributing to antitumor immunity
