NCT03822299 - Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) & Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical treatment trial studying the long-term effects of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) via gastroscope in 165 randomized patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) (1)

Primary outcome measures:

Global improvement in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms, Quality of life, fatigue

Results:

The study observed response rates in patients as follows:

23.6% of patients who received a placebo

76.9% of patients who received 30 g of FMT (p<0.0001)

89.1% of patients who received 60 g of FMT (p<0.0001)
