In reference to NCT01327846, the administration of anti-inflammatory therapy aimed at the interleukin-1 beta innate immunity pathway, specifically using canakinumab at a dosage of 150 mg every three months, led to a significant decrease in the rate of recurrent cardiovascular events when compared to a placebo. This outcome was noted regardless of any reduction in lipid levels.
