Interferons Type I (IFN Type I) Responses

Type I IFN responses are the body’s rapid innate immune program triggered when cells detect infection, especially viruses; they center on type I interferons such as IFN-αα and IFN-ββ, which signal through the type I interferon receptor (IFNAR) to switch nearby cells into an antiviral state. In simple terms, they are early warning signals that help contain infection and shape later immune responses
