Impact of Antibiotic Exposure on Chemo-IO Therapy in NSCLC

Anti-PD(L)-1 inhibition combined with platinum doublet therapy, known as Chemo-IO, has become the standard treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). While the negative effects of antibiotics on clinical outcomes before anti-PD(L)-1 inhibition monotherapy (IO) are well-documented, the impact of antibiotics before starting Chemo-IO remains controversial.

Study Overview

We evaluated the effects of antibiotic exposure in two specific time frames:

• -60-day window: Within 60 days before therapy.


• -60 + 42-day window: Within 60 days before and 42 days after therapy.
