Several new anti-integrin agents are currently being investigated in clinical trials.
Investigational drugs include: Etrolizumab, Abrilumab, Ontamalimab, Carotegrast methyl, PTG-100
Most new anti-integrins appear to improve outcomes in UC but not in CD. However, these data are not yet definitive, and several pivotal trials are still underway. The ongoing research will provide more clarity on the efficacy and safety of these agents in treating IBD.
