T helper 17 cell (Th17) are heavily involved in the pathogenesis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
T helper 17 cell (Th17) have been linked to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) since their discovery in 2005.
When mucosal damage occurs, a combination of cytokines, such as Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta), and Interleukin-1 (IL-1) beta (IL-1F2), induces these cells.
