The randomized, open-label phase II/III treatment trial, identified as NCT03686202 - MET4-IO - Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors (ICIs) + Microbial Ecosystem Therapeutics 4 (MET-4) & Solid tumors, has provided groundbreaking insights. For the first time, researchers have reported on the use of a microbial consortium as an alternative to fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in patients with advanced cancer undergoing treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI).
