the addition of transarterial radioembolization to standard second-line systemic therapy in patients with unresectable colorectal cancer liver metastases (CLM) in a large randomized controlled trial minimally improves progression-free survival but does not improve overall survival and causes increased toxicity. The results of this study mirror prior studies of transarterial radioembolization added to unresectable CLM in the first-line setting, and the standard of care for unresectable CLM remains systemic therapy without the addition of liver-directed therapy.
