Adoptive T Cell Therapy / CAR-T

Adoptive T Cell Therapy / CAR-T initially showed a positive response in a patient with relapsed/refractory (R/R) chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) by targeting CD19+ cells. This significant advancement eventually resulted in the FDA approving CAR T therapy for children and young adults with R/R B-cell ALL (B-ALL). While there have been notable successes in hematological malignancies, the potential of CAR T therapy for treating solid tumors, especially those found in the central nervous system (CNS), has proven to be more difficult to achieve.
