EPH receptor A1

In colorectal cancer and non-melanoma skin cancer, low expression of the EphA1 receptor was found in metastatic and advanced stages of the disease. In contrast, high expression is associated with locally invasive colorectal cancer.

This difference in expression levels was attributed to an inverse correlation between EphA1 expression and methylation; indeed, increased methylation at CpG islands was found in later metastatic stages of the disease.
