The receptor-based classification of breast cancer predicts its optimal therapy. Hormone Receptor (HR) positive breast cancer is treated with endocrine therapy, and HER2 + disease is treated with HER2-targeted therapy. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), defined as tumors lacking HR and HER2, represents an aggressive subtype of breast cancer associated with poor prognosis. Development of targeted therapy for this subtype has been challenging since TNBC usually lacks targetable genomic alterations.
