For Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), the primary treatment is multi-agent cytarabine-anthracycline-based chemotherapy. This chemotherapy is used for both induction and consolidation phases (2). Induction chemotherapy can lead to remission in many older patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, relapse is common after remission.
