The clinical phase III trial, identified as EMR 062202-025, demonstrated that progression-free survival (PFS), overall response rate (ORR), and quality of life (QoL) were enhanced when cetuximab was combined with irinotecan as a second-line treatment for patients with RAS-wild type metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). This finding confirms that cetuximab-based therapy is appropriate for this patient group.
