Fidaxomicin is a narrow-spectrum macrocyclic antibiotic, for treating inpatients with Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) (1)
Fidaxomicin is costly and is promoted by lobbyists. It's at the top of German guidelines (2), but it lacks solid studies. It's not better than Vancomycin (3, 4).
