Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) & Ischemic stroke

Some studies indicate altered gut microbiota in stroke patients compared to healthy controls (1, 2). Other studies found no change or only temporary changes in gut microbiota (3, 4). Results may be influenced by age, type 2 diabetes mellitus, or obesity, which are stroke risk factors linked to different gut microbiota (5, 6, 7, 8). Studies on alfa-diversity show contradictory results (2, 9).
