Paradol is a bioactive compound found in ginger (Zingiber officinale*)) and other plants of the Zingiberaceae family.
This phenolic compound is structurally similar to gingerol and shogaol, featuring a phenolic ring with a ketone group and a long alkyl chain. The most common form is 6-paradol, with other variants like 8-paradol and 10-paradol also existing.
